Commonwealth PhD Scholarships 2026/2027

The Commonwealth PhD Scholarships are a UK government-funded program that provides full financial support for doctoral study in the United Kingdom for applicants from eligible Commonwealth countries. The scholarship covers tuition, living costs, travel, and additional allowances, with selection based on academic merit, proposal quality, and potential development impact in the scholar’s home country.

Tuition fees, living stipend, airfare, study travel grant, fieldwork support, mid-term travel for the scholar, and family allowances where applicable.

Applicants must be citizens of or have refugee status in an eligible Commonwealth country, be permanently resident there, hold a first degree with a 2:1 or higher (or equivalent master’s), be available to start in the UK by September 2026, and must demonstrate need for financial support.
