Commonwealth PhD Scholarships 2027

The Commonwealth PhD Scholarships 2027 is a fully funded doctoral funding programme for citizens of eligible Commonwealth countries to undertake a PhD in the United Kingdom. It provides full international PhD tuition fees, a living stipend, return travel to the UK, and research training support. Applicants must secure a Sussex supervisor and go through the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission nomination process.

Citizens of, or refugees in, eligible Commonwealth countries who are permanently resident there, and who are unable to afford UK doctoral study without the scholarship; applicants must have a Sussex supervisor and be prepared to start in September/October 2027.

Submit a formal PhD application to the University of Sussex, obtain a signed supervisor statement, apply to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, and go through the nominating agency process.
