The ICGEB South African Women in Biotechnology Programme SAWBP – Postdoctoral Fellowship is a three-year PhD fellowship for South African women researchers intending to study towards a PhD in Biotechnology. It includes tuition and a stipend, and offers mobility opportunities to conduct research at other ICGEB components in Trieste, Italy and New Delhi, India, in alignment with the programme’s macro research areas. The programme targets innovative doctoral research in Infectious Diseases, Non-Communicable Diseases, Bioinformatics, Plant Systems Biology, and Virology at the Cape Town Component.

Eligibility

Female applicants who are South African citizens or permanent residents with a valid South African ID number; preference given to Black and disabled applicants.
