Steve Waugh Foundation Grants for Young Australians with Rare Diseases

The Steve Waugh Foundation Grants for Young Australians with Rare Diseases provide targeted financial support to young people living with rare diseases in Australia. Grants help cover practical needs that are not available through other organisations or government programs, such as equipment, mobility aids, communication devices, therapy and minor home modifications. The programme supports applicants aged up to 25 who have a formally diagnosed rare disease and meet the Foundation’s prevalence and documentation requirements.

Applicants must be aged 0–25, have a formally diagnosed rare disease meeting the Foundation’s prevalence requirement, be an Australian citizen or permanent resident for at least five years, hold an Australian Medicare card, provide appropriate medical/diagnostic evidence and demonstrate that government funding has been sought for the requested support.
