About this opportunity

The EMBL-UNESCO Residency in Infection Biology Research 2025 offers a short-term research residency for young women scientists working on infection biology. Selected candidates conduct a three-month research project at EMBL under the mentorship of an EMBL group leader, gaining technical skills aligned with ongoing research. The initiative is funded by EMBL’s Infection Biology Transversal Theme and aims to promote capacity building and gender equality in science.

Eligibility

Female scientists working in infection biology, primarily affiliated with an African institution; advanced PhD researchers, postdoctoral fellows or tenure-track group leaders (5 years or less); support letter from supervisor/mentor.
