African Research Fellowship 2024/2025

The African Research Fellowship is a 1-year fellowship program jointly conducted by ESA and the African Union Commission to empower African researchers to conduct Earth Observation R&D activities aligned with the EO AFRICA Initiative. Four African researchers will be hosted at the ESA ESRIN premises in Frascati, Italy, with activities beginning no later than June 2025. Fellows receive support including salary, a laptop/desktop, visa assistance, housing support options, and access to scientific networks and tools.

Salary for 12 months, travel allowance, housing assistance option, visa support, office space, access to scientific networks and tools, and potential conference funding.

Applicants should have a PhD (or Master degree with extensive research experience) in a relevant technical or scientific discipline.
