Information

The SCIP Fellowship is a one-year professional development opportunity for pre-tenure faculty at U.S. institutions who identify as underrepresented racial or ethnic minorities. Fellows gain science communication expertise and practice and build their professional networks through a sequence of workshops and activities focused on climate-change-related themes. The program provides financial support and aims to expand representation of underrepresented minority scientists and engineers as science communicators and public intellectuals.

Benefits

A $5,000 honorarium; travel reimbursement, lodging, ground transportation, and per diem for in-person trainings; an audio recorder for podcast development.

Eligibility

Open to tenure-track assistant professors at U.S. higher education institutions who self-identify as Black or African American, Indigenous or Native American, Hispanic or Latino/a/x/e, Asian or Asian American, or Middle Eastern or North African; and who study any aspect related to the cohort theme.
