The MIT Environmental Solutions Journalism Fellowship funds freelance and staff journalists affiliated with U.S. local or regional newsrooms to develop a long-form news project about how climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy affect local communities. The fellowship provides a stipend and support for a substantial reporting project, with emphasis on local perspectives and actionable climate solutions, particularly in food and waste systems. Fellows produce a long-form feature or a series of at least four pieces and publish the work with a sponsoring newsroom.
