The John G. Bene Fellowship supports Canadian master’s or doctoral students to conduct field research on the relationship between forest resources and social, economic, cultural and environmental welfare in developing countries, with a focus on resilience and social justice. The fellowship is awarded to a small number of recipients to enable research that benefits less privileged communities, including women and Indigenous peoples.
