About this opportunity

The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) is a fully funded, in-person research opportunity for high-achieving undergraduate STEM students worldwide. The program lasts 8-12 weeks in Sofia, Bulgaria, with mentorship from INSAIT faculty. Participants are expected to deliver a project plan, a final report, and a presentation, with opportunities to co-author papers for top conferences.

Benefits & funding

Monthly stipend of EUR 1,500 to cover living expenses; fully covered accommodation arranged by INSAIT; travel cost support; visa application support, where required; opportunity to co-author conference papers.

Eligibility

Open to undergraduate students from around the world who are currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, studying in a STEM field (computer science, mathematics, physics, or engineering), with a minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0 or equivalent, and strong academic motivation for research.
