Summer Research Program

The Siebel School for Computing and Data Science Summer Research Program places students with Illinois faculty mentors and graduate students for a summer research experience in computer science. Activities include networking and social events, weekly lunch-and-learn seminars on research and presentation skills and information about graduate school, and an end-of-summer research symposium. The program is offered in a hybrid format with both in-person and online components.

Research mentorship with faculty and graduate students, networking and social events, weekly seminars on research and career topics, and participation in an end-of-summer research symposium; possible pay negotiated with mentor.

Prepare a professional reference, CV/resume, 300–500 word personal statement, research statement, and 150-word bio; apply via the program application link beginning December 7, 2026.
