European Space Agency (ESA) African Research Fellowships 2026

The European Space Agency (ESA) African Research Fellowships 2026 invites African researchers to join a one-year research fellowship at ESA’s ESRIN centre in Frascati, Italy, beginning in October 2026. Fellows work on one-year R&D projects in EO Africa thematic priority areas, using EO satellite data and advanced analytical methods, and gain access to ESA-supported resources and training facilities as part of the EO AFRICA initiative.

One-year fellowship at ESA’s ESRIN centre with access to ESA-supported cloud computing resources and participation in the EO AFRICA Space Academy and Digital Campus, plus a professional network supporting open research practices.

Open to African researchers holding a PhD, or a Master’s degree with substantial proven research experience in satellite Earth Observation, remote sensing, or related fields.

Submit a complete application including a research proposal (max 10 pages with the official ARF template), CV (max 3 pages), copy of ID, diploma, and two confidential reference letters.
