Information

The UNCCD COP17 Media Reporting Fellowship 2026 invites professional journalists to cover the COP17 event and related land and drought resilience themes. Six journalists will be selected to report from UNCCD COP17 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (17-28 August 2026), with support to participate and produce independent coverage connected to the fellowship themes.

Eligibility

Open to professional journalists (staff or freelance) with a strong track record of reporting on environment, climate, agriculture, development, food systems, or related issues.

Application

Submit three samples of relevant published work, an editors' letter, a short three-story proposal, information about outlet reach, and a CV/resume to press@unccd.int with the subject line 'COP17 Media Fellowship Application'.
