Conservation Futures Fellowship

A fully funded graduate fellowship offered by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) through the Russell E. Train Education for Nature (EFN) Program. It supports master’s and PhD students conducting research on inclusive, community-led conservation in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The fellowship funds research and leadership that centers Indigenous peoples and local communities and integrates traditional ecological knowledge with conservation science. Selected fellows join WWF’s global conservation leadership network.

Up to USD 30,000 per year; tuition and academic fees; living expenses; books and materials; research and fieldwork costs; membership in WWF’s Russell E. Train EFN network.

Applicants must be enrolled in, admitted to, or have applied for a master’s or PhD program anywhere in the world; plan to begin studies no later than January 2027; and have at least two years of conservation-related work, research, or academic experience. Preference is given to candidates studying in their home countries or regions.
