Turing Scheme

The Turing Scheme provides funding to education providers to support students and apprentices with international study and work placements. It is open to UK and British overseas territory education and training providers and aims to enhance transferable skills, widen opportunity and drive value for money. Funding is typically provided as a per-student contribution to placement costs. The scheme is managed by the UK Department for Education for the 2026 to 2027 academic year.

Financial contribution towards placement costs on a per-student basis, international study or work placement experience, development of transferable skills and global outlook.

Schools, further education (FE) and higher education (HE) providers that are registered or recognised in the UK or British overseas territories and are responsible for delivering education or training to the students going on placements may apply.

Eligible UK and British overseas territory education and training providers apply for Turing Scheme funding through the Department for Education application guidance; applications are assessed by an independent organisation.
