UNHCR’s Tertiary Refugee Scholarship Programme (DAFI) 2026

UNHCR’s Tertiary Refugee Scholarship Programme (DAFI) offers qualified refugee and returnee students the possibility to pursue undergraduate degrees in their country of asylum or home country. The scholarship covers a range of costs including tuition, study materials, food, transportation and accommodation, and provides additional support such as mentoring and networking opportunities.

Tuition and fees, study materials, food, transportation, accommodation; mentoring and networking opportunities; academic and language preparatory support; DAFI student clubs and alumni activities.

Applicants must be recognized refugees or asylum seekers living in Rwanda; priority to those with excellent academic performance; must have been accepted to a university in Rwanda; only one family member can apply; not currently benefiting from another higher education scholarship.

Submit required documents via the official webpage; attach proof of UNHCR registration, high school diploma, and university admission where applicable.
