About this opportunity

The ACARE African Women in Science program is a nearly 11-month fellowship intended to build the capacity of women students and early-career researchers working on large lakes and freshwater issues in the African Great Lakes region. It is open to women scientists whose work relates to the African Great Lakes or connected water systems and may include an international travel experience. The program aims to provide exposure, professional recognition, and capacity building for participants.

Eligibility

Women between the ages of 23-40 who are nationals of one of the ten riparian countries of the African Great Lakes region, and who are actively conducting scientific work related to the African Great Lakes or connected water systems while holding an appropriate degree.
